Zach Baldridge, MS, LPC

I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health from Texas Woman’s University in 2014. During my time at TWU, I volunteered as a clinical intern therapist with the Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County.

There are quite a few common refrains I hear in counseling. One of my favorites is something along the lines of “you know… I really didn’t want to come here.” I’ll often hear this in an initial visit, when we’re just beginning to get to know one another. It is equal parts confession and ice-breaker, and I never mind. In fact, I appreciate the transparency. It isn’t unusual to hear a similar version of that same admission several months in. As work is being done, and positive change is realized, clients will frequently look back to where they began and remark “you know…I really didn’t want to come here, but I’m so glad I did.”

Out of all the decisions we make, one solitary choice may seem insignificant. But our choices are like an investment and interest compounds each time we make them. For me, one of those choices was deciding to pursue a career as a Licensed Professional Counselor. That is where my passion and purpose intersect, and where my skills and interests come to life. My practice is geared towards helping men, women, and teens learn to process their emotions, explore new ideas in a safe environment, and gain the tools necessary to thrive in their day-to-day lives. Bridging the gap between expectations and results requires work, but it is worth the effort to achieve balance, joy and peace of mind.

Those are the same qualities I strive for in my personal life. I am a proud father to four wonderful young men. We all love the outdoors, and spend as much time as we can in the garden, camping, and riding bikes. I find a great deal of enjoyment building things for our house, as well as training in the martial art of Muay Thai. Outside of that, I gravitate towards older things – like vinyl records – and enjoy reading mystery/suspense novels, along with finding ways to practice sustainable living.
