Welcome! I am so glad you are here. First things first, thank you for showing up – that is half the battle! Secondly, here is a little introduction. Kendal is an LPC Associate supervised by Yolanda Swope, LPC-S. She graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where she loved to explore and enjoy the outdoors. Her master’s degree was completed at Amberton University in Garland, Texas. During her practicum Kendal volunteered at a non-profit shelter for the homeless community in McKinney, Texas called The Samaritan Inn and loved it.
Kendal does her best to believe the best in others and is willing and ready to partner with you to face life’s challenges together. As a counselor, she believes that counseling should be a non-judgmental environment for conversation with purpose and goals. Intentionally connecting with her clients is very important to her as is developing a healthy therapeutic relationship with her clients. Partnering with her clients in a solution focused approach to skillfully create a unique plan for every individual is a big part of her counseling technique.
Kendal’s passion is to work teens, premarital and married couples, first responder families, interracial couples and families, and individuals 13 years of age and older who desire to build healthy lifestyle habits, enhance emotional, communicative and relational skills, and who are willing today, to try to do even just a little bit better than yesterday. She desires to partner with individuals, families and couples struggling with marital conflict, depression, ADHD, anxiety, domestic violence, grief, borderline personality disorder, low self-esteem and self-worth, and help build emotional intelligence, develop communication and conflict resolution skills as well as instill in her clients that much hope is ahead. Kendal offers faith-based counseling upon request.

Whether you are feeling down, happy, satisfied, feel broken, or are in the process of healing, there is always hope.
