Patty has been inspired by fitness her entire life, yet only walked into a yoga studio after her doctor recommended it to gain back balance and flexibility after a complete rupture of her Achilles’ tendon. When it helped her recover that balance and so much more, her passion for yoga just grew! She since went on to complete her yoga teacher training (200 hr RYT) as well as Chair & Gentle Yoga certifications. Her goal is to empower everyone, including the mobility impaired and seniors, to discover their inner strength, balance and grace on and off the mat.
Patty and her husband have two college-age sons. When not teaching yoga, she is volunteering with the youth at church or at work as a food scientist.
An interest in health and fitness began at an early age. I joined my first gym at 14, where I soon got a job helping new members find their way around the weight room. I have done it all- running, cycling, step aerobics, weight lifting, dance, Pilates, barre, etc., but I never thought yoga was for me. After some coaxing and repeated invitations from a friend, I walked into my first yoga class back in 2013. I was HOOKED! The music, the powerful movement, the sweat and the feeling of peace and well-being that followed was exactly what I needed! As an elementary teacher for the past 17 years, I decided to combine my love of teaching kids, along with my passion for yoga, and I received my 200 hour certification in 2017. I love how yoga allows the body and mind to connect in a way that leads to a deeper self understanding and self acceptance that opens one up to receive all that life has to offer. Through yoga, I have learned to accept and have compassion for myself and others. It’s ok to be exactly where I am today. I showed up on my mat, and that is good enough! I can’t wait to share this beautiful practice with your children! Namaste.
In 2013, Julie and her family moved to Frisco, Texas from Illinois. Leaving behind a 17 year career in education, she found herself a teacher without a classroom. That’s when she discovered the benefits and joys of yoga. Eager to learn more, she decided to further her knowledge and start a new journey.
Julie earned her RYT 200 Yoga Alliance Certification through Purple Lotus. She completed a 15 hour Restorative Yoga program from Yoga Tree in Plano. Currently, Julie is working on her 500 hour RYT and Breathe Into Recovery Certification from Urban Vybe in Flower Mound.
Julie’s classes offer yogis a safe place to: strengthen their bodies, honor their spirit, and find space between their thoughts. Her goal is to empower participants to find the mind/body connection using their own intuitive intelligence.
